Post Courier

Madang town which is home to thousands of soccer talents is mourning the loss of one of its former top line players.
Madang representative and NSL franchise Madang Fox former striker Richard Lange died yesterday afternoon after he was attacked by armed men in Madang’s North Coast area.
It’s a great loss to for the small town where Lange as a former top striker was yet to impart some of his skills to to the young generation.
Lange, a quiet spoken soccer player was known for his deadly left footer which left many goal keepers stood motion less as the ball whisked past them.
Lange brought much glory to the quiet township as he helped Madang win two Momase Cup titles and one PNGFA Cup in 2003 as it was called back then.
As of last night the news spread like wild fire in the town of Madang as relatives, friends and soccer friends attended the haus krai at Kina Beach to pay their respect.
Lange was attending Diving Word University as a day student.
Lange was one of the pioneer students who were part of the DWU matriculation system where he attended Grade 11 and 12 after finishing from Tusbab High School as it was called back then.
After Grade 12 he went on to complete his Diploma in Business.
He returned to complete his studies and that’s when he met his fate yesterday.
